WristPilot — Privacy Policy

What we do not collect

The app contains no analytics tool, no crash reporter and no third-party code that reads an advertising identifier. We collect none of the following: name, email, location, contacts, usage statistics, device identifiers, advertising identifiers.

What travels between your devices

For the app to do its job, the following goes between your phone and your computer:

• Pointer movement, clicks, scrolling and the text you type
• Your phone's name and battery level, so the app on the computer can show which device is connected
• A key created during pairing and stored on the devices

All of it stays between your own devices. Your computer is your computer; this is how the product works, not data collection.

Connection security

The link is made directly between your devices over Bluetooth LE; it never goes to the internet. At first pairing you enter the six-digit code shown on the computer’s screen, and only a hash of the resulting key is stored on the computer — the key itself never leaves the watch or phone. A device that does not hold the key cannot connect. On the watch and phone the key is kept in the operating system’s encrypted store (EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android, the Keychain on Apple devices).

Deleting your data

Reset pairing on the device, or Settings → Security → Reset in the desktop app, deletes the stored key. Removing the app deletes everything held on that device. There is nothing for us to delete, because we hold nothing.

Children

WristPilot is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated. If we ever begin collecting data — which we do not plan to — we will say so clearly inside the app.
